Cedar Creek Dam Removal

We demolished and removed the former Cedar Creek Hatchery concrete dam and associated structures which were a migration barrier to anadromous salmonids.

The project restored salmonid passage to the entire Cedar Creek watershed and effectively expanded the range of habitat accessible to these fish. The project is located about 700 feet upstream of confluence with South Fork Eel River. Work also included invasive species removal; temporary water bypass system; and regrading of the main channel among other site improvements to restore to near-original conditions.
