Hanford is acquired by The Dutra Group

PETALUMA, CALIFORNIA (April 30, 2025) – Hanford ARC, a general engineering and landscape contractor, will join The Dutra Group as a wholly-owned subsidiary.
Hanford has helped to lay the foundation for the ecological restoration industry since 1984, and will continue to execute its work, now with the added capacity and backing of its new parent company.
“As important as this industry is, it’s fairly new, and the last 25 of my 41 years in business have seen projects coming out faster and growing bigger than ever before.” said Doug Hanford, founder of Hanford ARC. “As pioneers in the industry, the opportunity to join Dutra, and benefit from their capacity and structure, will allow us to grow to the next level.” Following the purchase, Doug Hanford will remain with Hanford as Founder and Vice President.
The Dutra Group, based out of San Rafael, California, is a family owned, Bay-Area based Dredging and Marine Construction company. Founded 50 years ago by Bill Dutra, The Dutra Group aligns with Hanford’s business practices as well as its values: an emphasis on the highest quality standards in the industry, a critical focus on creating the safest work environment possible, and a commitment to the communities they work in.

Ryan Abood, Vice President of Dutra’s Delta Division will assume the role of Chief Operating Officer at Hanford. Aaron Johnson, previously Vice President of Materials at Dutra will transition to Vice President of Operations at Hanford.
