Yolo Ranch Vegetation Management
At Yolo Ranch our team provided vegetation management services in support of DWR’s long term stewardship work in the Sacramento–San Joaquin Delta. These stewardship projects represent decades of restoration investment and require ongoing management to remain functional, accessible, and ecologically balanced.
Our work focused on reducing the dominance of aggressive, non-native, and nuisance vegetation that overwhelm restored wetlands if left unchecked. Treatments were carried out across terrestrial, aquatic, and transition zones using mechanical methods, land-based applications where access, scale, or tidal conditions required it. By limiting invasive pressure, this work supports the recovery and persistence of native plant communities adapted to Delta conditions. By maintaining diverse vegetation, open water connections, and functional transition zones, the landscape can continue to support habitat quality and food webs while adapting over time instead of collapsing into monocultures.
